Everything in my work begins with creating a space together for my clients to see their situations and themselves clearly. Naturally, this creates the opportunity for my clients to see what changes they want to make in their lives and make those changes. I intend wholeheartedly to make this therapy space free of expectation and judgment and full of empathy and understanding. I bring a variety of therapy approaches and meditation/mindfulness to create a therapy experience WITH you that is tailored to your particular needs and perspectives. If we decide to work together, we will bring a lot of focus toward energizing and activating your personal strengths to help you create the life you want.
I have a Master’s in Social Work in Mental Health and Addiction from the University of Michigan. I am trained in EMDR and specialize in working with individuals with PTSD and complex PTSD. I use this approach with a majority of my clients, as I tend to find that many challenges start with difficult past experiences. If you feel that you had a childhood that was less-than secure or safe, we may work well together. I also use IFS Thearpy and often view human challenges in terms of the many different parts of ourselves struggling to get along. If you feel like you are battling with yourself, you may benefit from this approach to therapy. I also enjoy working with couples with communication difficulty, or emotional conflicts. The space that I create in therapy can help couples have conversations that FEEL different that bring understanding and connection.
